Koichiro Ikebuchi was born in Osaka in 1965. After obtaining a degree in architecture in Osaka, he moved to Singapore. With several years of extensive experience in interior design work, Ikebuchi started his own practice in Singapore and Osaka in 1996, where he was also a design consultant for a Japanese lighting company. In 2004, Koichiro Ikebuchi set up the current company, atelier ikebuchi pte ltd.
Koichiro Ikebuchi has also participated in a number of international competitions for his design work and received international awards, such as Diamonds International Awards by De Beers, Design Award by Saporiti Italia, President’s Design Award Singapore. In 2000 - 2001, Koichiro Ikebuchi exhibited his own furniture collection during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. As an interior designer, Koichiro Ikebuchi has also completed projects in other countries across Asia, Middle East, Oceania and North America. His projects range from luxury residences, hotels, offices, boutiques, to product design, such as furniture and lighting.
